HexDump
Hi all, I would like to know if hackos gives same performance thatn real macos for audio recording/production. I play the guitar and want something solid to create my songs. I would like to use logic pro+protools (is it true I need hardware to use it on mac?). If anyone has a machine that uses for the same thing, could you post your configuration? ( I prefer not patching configurations). Thanks a lot for this great community, HexDump. Zulu.Walker
Logic Pro = dongle ProTools = hardware An easier alternative would be Logic Express, no extra hardware needed. Recording quality still depends on your recording components, and IMHO, either Windows or Mac OS X will suit your needs to create a killer song. Regarding stability, it all depends on your hardware and how compatible it is with a real mac. Performance should be the same comparatively with a similarly-configured mac. Content is king! No hardware or operating system will be able to help you with that :pirate2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/49580-good-for-audio-recording-production/#findComment-354711 Share on other sites
HexDump
Fair enough. A song is good or bad dependin on its content and not the hardware it is made with. Anyway, I would really like to build a box for hackos/windows. I would like to to try something new (too many years with win, workbench and less with linux). Another thing is that looking at the way m$ is taking with their sos (ala Vista) I want to be moving to another platform. By the way, protools can be used (yes, ok, it is hacked version) on windows, but I wanted to see how it behave on macos. If I ever make some money from it sure I will buy it, but for home playing I won´t be paying for it (I know lota ppl will not agree with me). HexDump.
