skydiver
Can someone please write a tutorial on what ktexts in the System/Library/Extentions/ folder that we can safely delete? It seems there are an awefull lot of Ktexts that only are in there for true macs. Can we remove some of these to make our Hackintosh run more leaner and clean up the extentions folder with stuff meant for Apple Hardware only? I usually install the latest driver off the manufactures web site for any new hardware changes anyway. Just a thought. Also the Hawking Technology new Wireless G USB Adapter works right out of the box to get internet for your Hackintosh or regular Intel Mac. Also G5 and G4's. Make sure you buy the one designed only for Mac's and not their Windows version. Model number HWUG1A for Macs Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/49290-someone-write-a-tutorial-on-trashing-ktexts-we-do-not-need-lean-and-clean/ Share on other sites
Dainix
Sounds like the services tutorial for Windows 2000/XP. Either way, it shouldn't matter too much. If something is going to be paged to virtual memory, it'll be those unused kext files. Of course, I shouldn't have room to speak. I've got enough RAM to load OSx86 three times over.
