No Superdrive and Shutdown since a few days - what's wrong?

Hi,

since a few days I can't see my Samsung PIDE 160 GB partition and my Samsung SHS162A (IDE-)DVD Writer in the finder, nor it's listed in the system profiler.

Also my Hackint0sh won't shut down. Restarting is no problem but shutting down ends with the HDs not working and the power supply still working.

That's curious. I don't know why, but I think it has something to do with some updates I had done some weeks before (security updates, iTunes updates...) out of OSX.

My systems version is Mac OS X 10.4.8 (8L2127), Kernel is Darwin 8.8.1 (default kernel from JaS 10.4.8 installlation with two kernels to choose from, one of them was Mifkis kernel).

Hope one of you know this issues and have a suggestion for a solution. Thanks.

Ok, I've bought another harddrive and transfered all the data with the help of the migration asistent.

But one problem remains: the Mac doesn't shut down.

I don't know why, the Mac restarts without problem but if I want to shut him down he does - but the cpu and case are fans still turning and the harddrive is just "sleeping". I've to plug off the power cord to shut everything down.

Any idea?
