Renard45 Posted April 26, 2007 Share Posted April 26, 2007 it's a question of master/slave jumpers i guess try the hard disk drive alone on a sata or ide port also for the dvd burner if it doesn't work test the drives master/slave jumpers and not cable select hope it will help you! errandwolfe Posted April 26, 2007 Share Posted April 26, 2007 OK...I have two SATA drives (which don't have master/slave jumpers) and a single IDE DVD Burner which is set to master on my single IDE port. So why am I having this problem? It is very odd two, it only happens at boot, and if I reboot a few times it goes away. Firstborn Posted April 28, 2007 Author Share Posted April 28, 2007 i was trying to install "jas 10.4.8 amd-intel sse2 sse3". anyway i managed to solve the problem myself. The master/slave settings were causing it. after installing them however i was unable to boot. without the dvd it wouldn't start and with the dvd it just begins again the istallation screen.
