thanks An4re, but my card is still not recognised

When I followed the instructions GimmeRed told me to, I had a kernel panic on startup and forced to reinstall

Any other suggestions?

What card do you have?

Also you should be able to boot into safe mode and remove the kext without reinstalling. Hit F8 on the bootup and type -X to start in safemode.

No it doesn't show up in "about this mac". Under windows device manager it tells me its a Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN card. The Device ID is 4311.

The 4311 should show up as an airport card you might want to post all of your system specs, (you should have done this in your first post) and maybe someone will know what is going on for sure.

I have a zd7000 with broadcom 802.11b wireless card and even after trying all the tricks given in the forums i was unable to get my wifi running. I havent heard of anyone with a zd7000 get the wireless running with the broadcom card with 10.4.8 Jas If anyone has any success please post the steps.

I also tried reinstalling with the n/w on .. yet it doesnt pick up the wireless card. Even if you put the device id in the airport kext

WIll appreciate any help here

Thanks
