kapsel
Hi, these are my experiences with: 10.4.3_8f1099_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg I converted the .dmg file to .iso, and patched it with Maxxuss DVD-ISO Patch v1.0.ppf Burned it to a DVD, it boots up, but after showing the Darwin bootprompt and the usual white Apple OS X boot-screen with the pretty logo, it just reboots. I've tried all the kernels that comes with the release/patch (nonx etc.), noone of them works :-( The IBM T41 is a 1.6GHz P-m, 1GB RAM, 60GB 7200RPM Hitachi disk, and some other misc components. Theres several reports on the Wiki HCL list where people are reporting that its actually working, but for some reason, this build does not. Any ideas? And do anyone know if theres a ISO patch for macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg on its way? /kapsel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4901-ibm-t41-fails/ Share on other sites
TribesMan
Patch image with both maxxusss patches (1.0 and add-on patch), or use maxxuss patch 1.1. It worked on T42. Technobob
I had to use the addon patch to get it to run on my T40. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4901-ibm-t41-fails/#findComment-31194 Share on other sites
kapsel
Hi Thanks, I'll give that a try. Quick question, kinda offtopic, but: Im currently running Windows XP on my laptop (uses ~15GB of the 60GB avail.), and I have a second partition (45GB) with the space left. How do I get a multiboot system the easiest way? Is it possible to install OS X on that seperate partition within the installation? Or will it use the full disk available? /kapsel And, how is the support for Radeon 7500 Mobile? Is the any way to get QE? Thanks. Hagar
Easy Dualboot shortversion: copy chain0 to c:, edit boot.ini, delete second partition, set up new primary partition type af in its place, boot dvd & install on to your new partition. Chain0 is covered on the wiki: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Chain0 I use knoppix & fdisk to do my partitioning, you use what you're comfy with. if you find things aren't booting like you wanted: Pressing f8 on osx startup lets you choose which partition to boot. You can use the macos startup disk tool to set partitons active. (This is also available from the menu when booted from the install dvd) There are many tools for windows, using the recovery console on the bootable xp cd (fixmbr & fixboot in particular), bootdisks like hiren's or ultimate.
