There are several new private frameworks "CoreMedia" in the last build of Leopard related to the support for several audio and video codecs. The code names you can read of are "Fig", "Tundra" and "Rain Forest". It's the opposite: it is called "CoreMediaAuthoring" and lets you capture and de/compress several traditional audio/video formats, with the support for the iSight and the AppleTV.
