PRoblem:

Before hand, I installed the OSX86 just fine with video stuck at 1024x768. Then I installed the Beta 2 Driver of Macvidia. That allowed me to change my screen to my native resolution of 1280x800. Ofcourse, with the Macvidia drivers I had no QE or CI working. So I decied to install the Titan Drivers. I deleted all the old Kexts that had to do with my video card and I installed Titan according to these instructions:

http://www.macvidia.com/index.php?option=c...mp;topic=1104.0

Great news, I have QE and CI support, BUT the internal display doesnt not work. I have to plug it into an external moniter to see anything.

The screen boots to the white apple logo thing with the spinny circle. Then it turns black and the internal display is out.

If I dont plug in an external display, the internal display would be black but with the backlight still on and the external would be blue or doesnt work.

WIth the external plugged in, the internal moniter shuts off and the external takes over. I can set high resolutions with 32-bit and QE and CI.

I would like to be able to use my internal display WITH QE and CI, so any ideas?

I've read through all the topics I could and it seems that the people affected are ones who have Geforce GO cards, but no one has a solution.

I have a

Sony Vaio VGN-FS760/w

15.4 WideScreen

1GB of DDR2 RAM

Geforce 6400 GO with turbocache to 128MB

100GB HDD

Audio = ACL 260 (no workie btw)

I am using OSX86 10.4.8 with 8.8.1 Darwin Kernal.

Hi there,

i have had the same prob, the first boot and after apple logo with spinnig circle, the screen display turns black.(6400go sony vaio fs415s) i searched an find this in the macvidia-forum:

EDIT: Thanks mico for your corrections, i've edited to reflect those changes and making it easier for anyone to print the correct instructions.

For some reason if some of us set a resolution higher than 1280x1024 OSX displays a black screen, in my case even if my displays supports a higher resolution (i got a dell 24'' wide flat panel)

Anyway, if you're experiencing this problem, here are the steps to regain access to your system (delete previosly set resolution):

On the "Loading Darwin" screen:

1. F8

2. -s

3. /sbin/mount -uw /

4. Now you'll have to delete all these files:

rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver*.plist

rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.preference.displays*.plist

rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver*.plist

rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.preference.displays*.plist

rm -f /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver*.plist

rm -f /Library/Preferences/com.apple.preference.displays*.plist

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.*

kextcache - k /System/Library/Extensions/

reboot

If the above instructions does not work for you, then re-read installing instructions, if nothing work try a different build or remove the macvidia driver sad.gif, instructions here:

On the "Loading Darwin" screen:

1. F8

2. -s

3. /sbin/mount -uw /

4. sudo -s

5. rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/NV*.kext

6. rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.*

8. kextcache - k /System/Library/Extensions/

9. nano /etc/rc

Find and remove the following lines there:

kextload /System/Library/Extensions/NVidia.kext

kextload /System/Library/Extensions/NVDriver.kext

kextload /System/Library/Extensions/Nvidia.kext

Save and quit

reboot

for me it was the second solution.

good luck everyone

This got your internal display to work with Titan/Natit with QE/CI on your laptop display? I'm just sort of confused by the quote because it talks about how to set higher resolutions using Macvidia drivers...
