franky dv9064
Hi, I work on a dv9064 with similar spec's and it runs great on mine ! Wifi won't work because it's a 3495 intel chip but that's being worked on. I swapped card's on mine with a broadcom and it works now. You do have to alter your bios for it get accepted by the laptop so you might want to wait for the driver for yours. You can alway's buy a linksys wusb54gc usb stick that olso works great. Sound works kind of. It's not the best quality and the mic's don't work but it's something. Olso something that is being worked on. Display works olso kind of I've had alot of trouble's with the gfx card but in the end it does work. DVDrw olso works great I've tested it with toast 8 Just let me know if you need any advice or dmg files. I basically have them all with guide's for that laptop. Detosx
Not convinced there is any point in buying anything beyond a budget HP laptop, simply because the battery life on Hackintosh laptops, so to speak, is lousy, even with a nine cell battery. Therefore, why not spend the money instead on a desktop machine or, logically, an Apple MacBook/pro? If a laptop isn't functional as a laptop, battery life wise, what's the point, you know? Certainly it works on my HP dv6250us and run very quickly. Obviously not suitable for multimedia artists or achitectural renderings but fine for general multimedia and desktop applications. It is much faster than Vista, even when you bump the memory up to 2gigs as I did. Detosx
Feel like I sounded too negative a note. If you're not going to use the laptop much on the move, if more often than not you'll be plugged into the mains, Intel based HP machines, or at least the HP dv6205us, work very nicely. At any rate, a nice stopgap until the new Macbook comes out with its HUGE battery life and very lovely screen.
