Hello all,

I'm about to build a MacOS X x86 compatible machine for my parents. I thought about using these components:

MB: Intel D915GUXL socket 775

CPU: Celeron with SSE3 support

My questions are:

1) is there any better compatible MB (with integrated graphics, sound and ethernet - all working) ?

2) which Celeron models support SSE 3 ?

3) what is the FSB frequency used by Celeron processors and memory with this type of MB (100x4, 133x4, 200x4) ?

Sorry for the newbie questions but I've been using a PowerMac G4 for 3 years now and haven't dealt with PC hardware for ages.

Thanks.

my favorite board is http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=249000

that's what ill be gettin in a few days

the guxl is a VERY good board for osx86, highly recommended...

As for celeron, Celeron D 336J (2.8 ghz) has all your requirements, there may be cheaper ones, but Im speaking from experience with that cpu. I think the crucial thing you need to find is a model that has the J appended to it, it will have the NX bit...

I'm using ddr1 with my Cel D and my bus speed is reported as 533 in osx (I think its referring to cpu bus speed), my memory bus speed is running at 400 dual channel mode.
