My story:

Problem 1: EBIOS - this is a drive or disc problem. My first ISO burn loaded up Darwin pretty nice (using NERO), and the osx install etc... but I had a mounting problem with my drive... The second time I tried the DVD-R burnt it "Ebios Error". I couldn't believe it, but burn a new copy WITHOUT NERO at the slowest rate possible. This disc has worked the 5 times I loaded it.

Problem 2:

Couldn't mount drive to install OsX. Entered OSx disk utilities, could see the drive, could try to erase it, format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled), but couldn't mount it to choose to install - then it dissapeared forever. This was due to the fact that when I partitioned my drive, my partition went over 1024 cylinder (right number?... doesn't matter, use partition magic 8 and look carfully, it will warn you the partition cannot become bootable!!) - at the third format time I noticed this, so I reformatted the whole drive, installed XP, partitioned, formatted fat32 primary bla bla - BOOM, worked. Disk Utilities found, formatted, mounted and installed...

(When partitioning for dual XP/OSx, be sure that Mac partition is formatted in FAT32 and set as PRIMARY - not Logical)

but...

Problem 3:

After smoking a cig to calm my mental orgasm... The dreaded boot problem "Push power button to restart" cyclicly...

ARG !! Searched this forum and found it might had to do with compatibility problems of hardware, or problems with ISO file, or even wrong ISO to begin with... god damn the combinations!! But I have an SSE3 from what I gathered here... and the ISO downloaded straight and nice from many seeders... There seemed no logic why it shouldn't work ! From my searches, this is the right ISO.

Popped in the Mac installer, erased the mac partition and reformatted (Mac OS Extended Journaled), mounted, chose the drive, clicked continue and clicked "Customize".

On my first attemp, I checked all relevant (not AMD of course, but printer, intel, common hardware, language pack, Natit)

The second time, ONLY intel support and ONLY Natit (Natit is a "driver" thing for nVidia Cards - too me a while to get it!).

Worked like a charm - installed and booted straight in.

So now, directly copied from the mac sys info...

Sorry for the long text!!

I installed my audio card (RME Fireface 800) - firewire works super !

I would wildly appreciate if someone explained how I could get

- airport

- Is graphics good to go like this? Is there any better? Would love to edit small vids

- Internal audio would be great too... EDIT: FIXED !! read below

Cheers and good luck! I am am noob-o-tronic, but happy to lend a hand!

That is correct. I deleted nothing. I forgot to mention, the ISO I used was the JaS Beta 2.

The fact that the video card is unknow, yet says QE is ok plus 1280 x 800 reso means my graphic are ok? Everything seems super smooth. Tonight I will install some stuff to test. My friend owns a Rev A Macbook Pro. It would be really nice to benchmark both to see differences... Anyone can point me to a good app for this?

Also, anyone got Airport and internal Realtek to work?

Ok... :) so everything is not so :censored2: dandy after all  ...

Bluetooth is "active", but I cannot send or recieve files, the bluetooth utility cannot find my bluetooth card. On the sys info, everything shows ok, if I am not mistaken, I will copy and post the log.

Installed RME Fireface 800 with original driver CD - perfect sound

No internal audio.

I haven't had time nor software to test other stuff on my hacky, but a fractal generator a friend of mine also has on his powerbook. Smoother than his, but some instruction/algorythms (like 3D simulator) wont run. I can see *.avi no problem, VLC works like a charm. F12 is super smooth - the whole OS seems damn fast doing everything, especially copying files around WOW !

I noticed the Chess game crashes on cpu 2nd move.

I cannot burn DVD's because it says ALWAYS the files is too big to burn (tried twice, 3,5GB and 2,5GB to a DVD-R)

Can anyone please advise me how I can go further?

Also, can anyone PLEASE tell me if I should try a different ISO? I used JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 but during install it says Beta 2 - I have not been able to correctly identify the "best" ISO for my lappy... :tomato: I know I know... as I said, I am a good will noob that will write a step-by-step guide for this lappy when I can get it right!

thanks

Internal Audio OK !!

Installed the "AzaliaAudio.pkg"

Out working, In not - will seek solution and post.

Also,

Bluetooth IS working, I just hadn't checked the "file sharing" and that was what I tried.

Cheers
