Hi, i just installed mac 10.4.6 on my computer today and am loving it. In fact, i made this topic through my mac! anyway, to the point, how can i change my resolution? The only one available is 1024x768. also, in the software updater thing, it asks me if i want to update to 10.4.9. should i update and if so, is there anthing i need to do after/before installation? thanks in advance for any help

p.s. is there anything i can do about the mouse-tearing as if i leave the mouse stationary for a few seconds, when i move it, it takes a small chunk out of where it was

For many video cards, better/wider support came with 10.4.8 and it's new kernel.

Search for the words "Natit" and "Titan".

And NO, do not update directly from Apple: for a hackintosh, you need hacked updates for major updates.

I'd recommend installing 10.4.8 (or 10.4.9, depending on your hardware) from jas' or myzar's 10.4.8 dvd.

i had quite a few problems installing 10.4.8 actually and that is why, after reading about how some people got 10.4.6 to work but not 8, i decided to try 10.4.6. also, is there any place i can just download the update rather than having to re-install.

also, could i still increase the resolution in 10.4.6

EDIT: i managed to change the resolution by editing com.apple.plist
