maddutchman
Did anyone get Protools up and running? I'v tried it with a digi 002(firewire) and an Mbox(usb) with 6.9 updates. you can however install protools, but running the program is the big problem because it can't connect to(find) the hardware. anyone any idea about this? SPLASTiK
I'd just wait for Digidesign to release an MacIntel update (if PT7 isn't already compatible.) I'd just like to add, on the Digidesign Forum, the Mods seem to say PT is more stable and even faster in XP than OS X. I've been using Apples exclusively for audio for the past 2 years so the whole osx86 thing has intrigued me as I see it as the best of both worlds. However, I'm planning to buy a PC anyways because Apples are just too expensive and the fact Digi suggests PC's over Apples now. Since I'm used to apple quick keys, that an easy fix. Buy an apple keyboard and use a nifty program like this: Trade Keys and just swap a few keys to make all the quick keys the same. enb14
Degidesign now says "Use a PC over a MAC" because new macs doesn't have PCI ports anymore, how stupid are PowerPC designers to not add any PCI port, PCIe is almost not suported yet (Except for video cards). lane
Digi Design is a money grubbing "BLEEP" of a company! Every two or three years you have to spend XXXX money to update your hardware/software to guarantee you get a patch to work in your new OS build (Tiger, Leopard). I don't see Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, or Quark charging me any more for a simple patch to use my year or two old software.
