dazWiLLiE
I'm trying to track this problem down. I've searched the forum and read many threads of similar/same problem. For instance I don't have wifi on this comp, so the solution regarding wifi won't work. (this aint a laptop) I've tried the different bootparams, cpu=1, idlehalt etc, but no change and looked at dmesg. Any pointers on how to find out what driver or what it is that's hogging the kernel? mspr
Hi, try OSX 10.4.8 Tubgirl with kernel 8.8.1 I'm running this OSX version on the same CPU (X2 3800+) and it works fine Don't use the options cpus=1 and idlehalt on boot (I suppose that these parameters disable one core) I'm using only platform=ACPI as boot parameter Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47570-kernel-100-on-one-core/#findComment-340699 Share on other sites
dazWiLLiE
Thanks for the reply. I'm already running the 8.8.1 kernel, though. :/ This problem came after a while, it wasn't like this the whole time. preskush
Same thing just happened to my installation of 8.8.1 Nebudchanezar kernel. Seems that it has to do with some sort of driver configuration, but I have no idea how to debug... Any ideas?
