  1. Hi all, long time no see! Today I was trying to get my Startech express34 USB 3 card working with my newly purchased Sonnet Thunderbolt Express 34 adapter using the modbin patched PXCHD.kext. It was infuriatingly not working... the kext wouldn't load into extensions and the USB 3 highspeed driver would not show up until.... Through some searching I realized that kexts need to have an addition to their plists in order to enable Thunderbolt functionality, namely: <key>IOPCITunnelCompatible</key> <true/> I added that to the plist, restarted, and voila I can now connect to the drive! However, although the drive is recognized under SuperSpeed USB as PXCHD, it still shows up as a maximum of only 480 mb/s aka USB 2 speeds. I dont' know if this has anything to do with the modification I made but I would think it didn't. Anyone care to chime in? I'm including the updated PXCHD for Thunderbolt connections if anyone wants to give it a shot/take a look at it. http://www.mediafire...k02c2y2as5zvkz2 Thanks guys, enjoy!
  2. 10.5.6 Released!

I have the same setup and have 8600gt fully supported using NVDarwin installer. Just make sure to remove all injectors and strings before you install it or it will not work. AOK
  3. 10.5.6 Released!

Install from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 went great with DSDT. QE/CI still fully supported, fireface800 sound still works. Seems very stable, quicker boot time. However, not is all roses pancakes {censored} and giggles... Since the installation: 1) All the built in hard drives show up as yellow removables again... They do not have firewire/usb tags as the real ones do, but they don't show up as internal drives nontheless. 2) Time machine not working. Tried to apply Ethernet EFI string fix with PCWiz UInstaller and I get "AppleScript Error cp: directory /Users/Livingroom/Documents/OXS86ToolsGFX does not exist (1)" Tried reinstalling gfxutil as well as creating the folder on my own and no dice. Time machine says "...could not be configured. The built in network interface could not be found." 3) Built in ALC888 audio is no longer available. Tried repatching via ox86tools to no avail. Other than that system seems to be working great. Not using the EFI that came with UInstaller but on older version of isolinux tailored to the EP35-DS3L and works no problem. If someonehad any advice, id be super-appreciative. Thanks
  4. I recently installed the iATKOS 10.5.4 (9E17) v4i running vanilla kernel 9.4 and everything seems to be working swell, EXCEPT shutdown/restart/sleep. My understanding was that the P-35 board was very similar to the boards that Apple is using so I am kind of confused as to why this would happen. Pretty much everything else is working fine like I said, but it would be so convenient and better on my energy bills  to take care of this problem. I'm thinking it would be an AppleAPCIPFamily issue or something in that realm but I really am not too sure. Currently working on: Gigabyte P-35 DS3L Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3GHz 2GB 800Hz Ram NVidia 7600GT 256mb QE/CE Supported 3 SATA Drives w/ AHCI Anyones help/input would be grrrreatly appreciated.
  5. no Dock after 10.5.4 update

Hey c_c i tried that but it didn't work. I replaced the Dock and the Finder with the older versions from 10.5.3 and I got background but no dock. Also, when I try to start an app it just freezes and gives some sort of java related error in the report. Any one with any big ideas?
  6. I'm having the same issue as Joege... 10.5.2 Zephyroth installed and once the pkg is downloaded, the updater says "Moving packages to temporary folder" and never moves an inch past that. Any instructions on manual install or other suggestions would be great.
  7. Really? Seems like kind of a lazy answer to a real question. I've tried fixing permissions as well as reinstalling PCgenUSBEHCI (and a bunch of other stuff) and nothing will work. I keep getting this error coupled with ATA errors when trying to start up Kalyway 10.5.2 on a AMD Opteron NForce4 Ultra-D rig. Definitely still a problem for many people. Bumpity bump. Help! please?
  8. AMD Systems

Hi guys, Sorry to hijack the thread, but a quick question... I was wondering if anyone is using 10.4.9 with an nF4 board and SATA hard drives (AMD obviously ). I've got 10.4.8 running pretty stable with an opteron 165 OC'ed to 2 GHz and a bunch of SATA hard drives. Would like to update to get some programs that aren't supported by 10.4.8. If so, which update patch did you use? I've seen a tubgirl delta and a myzar (same person?) on tpb... If anyone has any input i would greatly appreciate it.
  9. BJ Moose: I think any firewire800 card will work well with OSx86. I'm personally using one with a texas instruments chip via PCI and my hackintosh didn't even hiccup about recognizing it. It just adds your FW800 devices nicely into the system profiler along with your FW400 ones.
  10. Dual Screen in OSx86

Yea i'm running Diabolik's Natit specifically for the X1300, but it doesn't support dual screen. Seems like OSx86 + X1300 dont equal dual screen. Which is strange because some of mac's server machines ship with X1300's. If anyone's gotten it to work your help would be much appreciated.
  11. Anybody got Ati1300 to work dual display?

    Yes please. Bump.
  12. Dual Screen in OSx86

I've been doing some searching and coming up negative on functioning dual screen kexts for OSx86. This is kind of a bum-out as obviously it would be great to extend screen real-estate for music and design as well as entertainment purposes. As most video cards today support dual output, I thought I would start a dual-screen thread. Personally, I'm using a Radeon x1300 with OSX 10.4.8 Semthex kernel 8.8.1. However, if anyone has information about getting dual screen working on any graphics card it would be appreciated if you posted. What steps did you take, what hardware are you using, etc. Lets get those second screens buzzing.
  13. How to set Front side bus?

Interesting... my about this mac displays the correct overclocked speed, 2.21GHz (FSB clocked from 200 to 240MHz), but my system profiler tells me this: Machine Name: Mac Machine Model: ACPI CPU Type: Dual Core AMD Opteron Processor 165 Number Of CPUs: 1 CPU Speed: 2.21 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB CPU Features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 HTT SSE3 Memory: 3 GB Bus Speed: 388 MHz I'm running Tubgirl's 10.4.8 Nebuchandezar 8.8.1 kernel for AMD with a nF4 motherboard. Everything runs pretty smooth and the other info in the profiler is good, except for this one point. Any ideas on what could be going on?

  15. How to set Front side bus?

So if you overclock, you have to edit settings in osx, too? I've got mine from 200 to 240 without any setting changes and it runs really stable.
