I'm thinking about buying a new laptop and wanted to get the "best" and "easiest" to install OSx86 with the minimal amount of stuff that doesn't work and minimal amount of hassle.

I'm reasonably well versed in installing windows and have done Linux installs as well, but when it comes to troubleshooting I want to stay away. I was able to install OSx86 on my Dell Latitude D400 but ran into issues with the graphics driver and have a 1-bit-per-pixel display

So, recommendations?

What would be the point in buying a laptop just to install OSX86 onto it when half the drivers will be missing and its not guaranteed to run. You might as well buy a Macbook or if your rich buy a Macbook Pro. OSX86 can be easy but most of the time be such a pain i spent like 2 weeks to get upto where up am now which is trying to make it alot faster atm it is running at about 1 calculation a second haha. Also if you buy a Mac you can run both windows and Mac OSX on it.

Thinkpads have universal hardware throughout, so as far as drivers are concerned it would probably be the easiest.... of course any tricked out one costs big money (My T60p $3800). It might be cheaper to just get a MB or MBP, although the heat and weight issue are a big factor and that is why I went with a TP.
