gavorge
I've got the 10.4.3 iso patched with maxxuss's patch and burned to a bootable DVD. I can boot the DVD and get to the install screen. When I hit enter to install the screen displays the loading Darwin line. After about 10 seconds or so (probably less) the computer just restarts and boots normally into linux (which I already have installed). So I can't get the installer to load. Thia also happens when using the "mach_kernel.nonx" option that should bypass that requirement for my cpu. Using the -v option doesn't tell me much because it lists what it's loading but simple reboots after displaying about four lines of text and safe mode booting behaves the same way. Is this a problem with linux being installed? Do I need to format the drive clean before installing or cna I do that during the Os X install. In short, how do I get my installing rolling? Thanks. m4ff3w
This is likey because PAE isn't working, you are going to have to wait for another (if it comes) patch. gavorge
This is likey because PAE isn't working, you are going to have to wait for another (if it comes) patch. Is there a list online of processors that support PAE or is this something that should pop up when getting proc info? MacFeast
What is the latest update on this issue? I have the same problem (see my post http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=5877). I have seen other computers with the same type of cpu get it to work (see e.g. http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=5796, http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=5531). I'm eagerly waiting......
