Roflcopterrr
I have an OSX86 PC, it's running fine and all, except for a few extremely annoying problems! Final Cut Pro is EXTREMELY slow, and can barely edit without freezing up on me. Garageband just quits on me while recording most of the time. If someone IM's me on AIM, Garageband or FCP will "unexpectedly quit". My specs are: 160 GB HDD (112 gb for osx86) 512 MB PC2700 RAM ATI 9600 XT Pentium 4 2.8 ghz Why is this? eek i just clicked get info for FCP PowerPC Application??? So, it's running under rosetta! o__o Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47105-final-cut-pro-and-garageband-acting-weird/ Share on other sites
zarac
you'll need to upgrade your fcp to 5.1 (the first universal binary version) more ram would be handy if you plan to edit and have other programs in the background Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47105-final-cut-pro-and-garageband-acting-weird/#findComment-337349 Share on other sites
jimihat
GARAGEBAND I actually have a genuine Apple OSX disk with iLife06 as part of the bundled add-ons; I've tried to install from here but it does a system check and says it can't install iLife on my machine. I also downloaded a dmg of iLife06 (Garageband only) from a torrent. It took me a day to download it (via Windows as ethernet not working on osx86) and the mac can't open it. It mounts the dmg but when you then click the install file it says "unable to open". Please help me; I'm a desperate man in need of Garageband - I just can't afford a decent mac to run it on!!! Thanks in advance guys, Jim, UK My Setup:- E6600 Core 2 Duo 2.4 (AS ROCK Conroe945 DV Chipset) 2gb Ram Nvidia 7600 256mb Line6 Toneport USB Audio i/o (currently acting as system soundcard) OSC is running natively on its own 80gb IDE HDD.
