theloneviolist
I've seen a lot of tutorials that describe how to complete the installation of OS X on a x86 machine, but there must be an easier way to install it on a Mac, and then put the hdd in the PC. It may require some fixes at this point, but shouldn't that be possible? I have a Mac mini and a x86 laptop. My drive on my laptop crashed, so I'm thinking about trying this. Suggestions? Zulu.Walker
I don't know if the hardware "workarounds" would even let the OSX86 DVD run on your real Mac. You'd probably have to modify the DVD so it'll work on your real Mac, install, then change kexts and stuff to make it boot in X86. If you can track down the specific differences between the real unmodified OSX and OSX86 install packages you'll probably get it to work. Else, you'd have to find a different option.
