shatteringlass
Hello everybody. I have a pretty strange need and a linked stupid question. I need one of my apps to close once per hour and to restart just after being killed. I explain myself: i use xTorrent for downloading my stuff, and it used to be a beta version so i was happy to be a beta tester. Now the beta testing is over and a window prompted me to upgrade to last stable release (which is a shareware and nobody told me it was ). I upgraded gladly, though now i'm not able to use it freely any longer. It asks me for a registration, though it is quite expensive (29$). The trial version just allows me to download freely for 1 hour, and after it caps the max download speed to 10kb/s (pretty slow). I noticed that if i close the app and restart it as soon as i have closed it, i have my 60mins back, and i can download pretty fast. I know it's not that legal and not that polite, though i need a way to teach my app "close after 60mins of activity and open again just after". I thought it could be quite easy to do with some macro, such as Automator's ones, yet i have no experience with that. It'd be kind of you to help me. Thanks in advance, yours Federico Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46854-how-to-teach-an-app-to-close-once-per-hour-and-restart-soon-after/ Share on other sites

consolation
1) make a script that closes your app. 2) use iCal's alarm function to trigger that script. 3) use iCal's alarm function to start your app. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46854-how-to-teach-an-app-to-close-once-per-hour-and-restart-soon-after/#findComment-335439 Share on other sites
