eightballbill
I used to sleep and shutdown in osx 10.4.3, since my mobo (asus p5gd2) was very similar to the one used by the developers at that time. From 10.4.4 i couldn't shutdown anymore without replacing the original iousbfamily.kext with the one from 10.4.3. Now that the new kernels are incompatible with the old kext, what should I do? Any suggestions? My configuration: Asus p5gd2 basic Pentium IV 3.0 ghz 32 bit (i don't remember exactly the model) asus nvidia en7600gt 256mb. When I try to shutdown, the GPU goes down, the monitor goes black, the Hard drive spins and then the computer doesn't power off! It is quite frustrating, i've to push the power button for 5 seconds every time before shutting it down completly.
