Howdy all!

I am still new to the group, I haven't got to make my first OSx86 box yet. I have been waiting to buy an IBM ThinkPad to install OSx86 on, and I am getting the perfect model with the perfect hardware to run well.

I have been waiting for the new models to come out (with widescreen 14" screens), but I was recently told that it may have the Santa Rosa Intel chip. While this is a cool, big upgrade, I'm not sure if it will work with my OSx86 plans.

Do we know if this will be supported yet? If I remember correctly, it's on a 45 nanometer architecture, rather than 65 currently. And I think I read that it will have SSE4 instructions, rather than SSE3.

Do we have any ideas if this will work yet? Will we have to wait and see? Do we already know that it won't work? Will it work after Santa Rosas come out for true Apples, then we can reverse-engineer it for PC hardware? Will project leaders, like Semthex and JaS still be working on OSx86 that far ahead into the future, or 'retire'?

Sorry for the slam of questions, but I'm doing some research.

Thanks guys,

Chances are it will be just like running OSx86 on SSE3 computers.

Apple will be going there pretty soon after its introduction, we can assume, so there will be a fair chance of little compatability problems
