Robin-sips
hi there all, i have an powermac g4 graphite digital audio. It's a 466 mhz single core. yesterday i replaced my grphics card because my otherone was broken. i replaced it with the same card, it's an original ati rage pro. My mac starts up showed me the nice apple bootscreen and starts, where i normaly get the logonscreen i get a blue screen that changes after a few seconds to a gray screen, only a cursor nothing more. i can start normally in save mode, but when i restart still no normal boot. (all this is with my primairy hard disc normal osx 10.4.8) now i also tried with osx 9.1, here he boots up and login, right after the login i get a black screen with out of range nothing more. i reïnstalled my osx 10.4 tiger and still i got the blue screen where normally comes the login. Still works in safe mode, but no normally boot. i bought this mac 2nd hands, but it worked flawlessly for a week, now i got this problems, and i need my mac for my work so :S. Any sugestions? regards Robin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45952-omg-my-g4-dont-boot-anymore/ Share on other sites

Robin-sips
just Stick in your OSX cd go to disk utils and repait the preffs , G4's dont handle hardware changes that easy hm what you mean i need to reïnstall osx 10.4? i did this already, i also tried changing the battery, pmu button, control+option+p+r, repair my disc with disc util, nothing helps. The strange thing i have is that when i open my dvd drive, pu tin my osx dvd, he stands open for about 5-10 mins, he pulls hem in and gives again a blue screen after a grayscreen. not yet booted normally still works flawlessly in safe mode :S omg, if my card would be broken how can he go nicely in safe mode? i don't understand this problem Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45952-omg-my-g4-dont-boot-anymore/#findComment-329035 Share on other sites

asap18
Did you try resetting the PRAM? hold option+apple+p+r right after you turn on until your computer resets.
