Mr. Vi Posted March 20, 2007 Share Posted March 20, 2007 Good morning guys! Yesterday I decided to turn my pc into a hackintosh. The reason? On saturday I formatted my pc and installed windows again. Everthing worked fine until I had to reboot due to an installation. I rebooted, but windows didn't. I've tired different things to reformat and reinstall windows - but with no luck. Now, my pc is running again, but, I lost all my files! I haven't seen this before... All my photos, musicfiles and homeworks are gone... I think you'll understand, why I hate MS right now and want to build a hackintosh. Before I start, I have a few hardware related questions... Current system: CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2400+ MB: MSI KT3 Ultra2-C 512MB DDR SDRAM (PC2700) nVidia GeForce Ti 4200 with AGP8x Seagate Barracuda 160GB and 40GB Soundcard: Aureon 5.1 FUN I think I need to upgrade the CPU and the MB... Is this everything I need to change? And where is the Difference between an Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 and E6300? So please guys, can you give me some advise which hardware I should buy? Thanks! macbrush Posted March 20, 2007 Share Posted March 20, 2007 If you upgrade your MB and CPU, its likely that you'll also need a new PCI-e display card, DDR2 RAM instead of DDR one you have, and maybe new SATA HD. Your best bet is sell off your current system, and get a new one.
