bigcletus
Hi. I have been in the process of building a new pc for the last couple months (piece by piece). I am not a huge gamer, but I would like a capable system. I started by purchasing hardware thinking that I was going to make a vista machine. That was until I found this site Now I think I am going to do quad boot (xp, vista, linux, mac os of course and maybe DOS…j/k) Here is what I have so far: E6300 Core 2 duo DG965WH MB 2G DDR 800 ram 320 Seagate SATA HD Vista Ultimate Plextor DVD burner IDE carry over from my current machine I plan on getting the following this week: Graphics card (probably a mid level nVidia card) Some kind of case and ps My biggest concern is the 965 motherboard I have. After reading up on this site, it looks like it is not a good choice at all for osx86. So my question is, should I scrap this MB and look into the intel bad axe 2 instead or take my chances with the 965? Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hiro_
Hi boy, really i already tried a 965 motherboard and is a hard job, but is possible. I not know much about the supported hardware by Mac OS X x86, but if i can give a advice to you i will say than you'd should change your motherboard by an Asus or a Intel more recent, and for your video card i'd think in a nVidia 7900, following a advice than i got here on insanely. But as i say, 965 also work, only has a bit more of work.
