92skyline
I installed OSx86 10.4.8 in VMware (JaS) and the performance is very sluggish. My CPU is constantly loaded at 100%. It seemed like the TPM problem stated here, but the kext must have already been removed. In the wiki page it describes the issues i'm having. Is there any way to fix this? Mind you, i don't expect it to be full speed, but i didn't think it should be that slow Edited March 19, 2007 by 92skyline Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45688-sluggish-performance-in-vmware/ Share on other sites
sg
what cpu do you have? IIRC vmware/parallel will run sluggish unless you have the VT instruction on your cpu. 92skyline
AMD Sempron 2600+ 1.64GHz Other OSes i've run in VMware haven't run nearly this slow. But who knows, that may be it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45688-sluggish-performance-in-vmware/#findComment-327480 Share on other sites
Purple Puppy
The 100% CPU usage is probably because your Sempron processor wasn't that powerful in the first place. Maybe there was a few bugs in the VM, but heck, I've used 1.8GHz Semprons before and I really found them too slow. Even on my Core 2 Duo machine, Mac OS X runs slower in VMware than other OSes. However, most of the time the slowness is caused by the host and the guest operating system fighting over one harddrive.
