I installed and updated OSX on an Aspire 3610 with Intel Intergrated Graphics this weekend.

One major problem was WoW crashing with the new OpenGL framework, sadly that is as I suspect improvement in there :(

Anyways to get your 10.4.9 install with Intel GMA900/10/15 to work use my install package. Remember to remove the old extensions (all AppleIntel915*, AppleIntelGMA950* and AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext) before install and after install please use diskutil to repair permissions.

I CAN get the AppleIntel915 extension to work with the NEW OpenGL framework, BUT this does not run WoW (it just crashes). So remember this is a quickfix until someone has figured out what the problem is here!

Its either WoW that is not compatible with the new framework (which I dont suspect) or the OLD JaS AppleIntel915 exacutable (from AppleIntel915.kext) blowing something for OpenGL.

Also I forgot to mention the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext is also the old one and can also mess something up with the new GL drivers.

So basicly these extensions where unmodified using the new driver as my source:

AppleIntel915VADriver.bundle

AppleIntel915GA.plugin

and

AppleIntel915.kext

AppleIntel915GLDriver.bundle

AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

are made up from the new AppleIntelGMA950 driver, with only exacutable changes.

Hope this clears up the situations and if it doesnt and you want to try get the new framework a go ....

You simple use the AppleIntelGMA950.kext and replace its exacutable with the old JaS one. I cant remember if I used old or new AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext but if it doesnt work with new it will work with old :D

Also if you get BSOD use the one-wire trick (hxxp://forum.insanelymac.com/uploads/post-53077-1160846022.gif)

Download: (darn router doesnt allow upload here, hope my instructions will clarify what is done will post it tomorrow from home)

PS: I think with the new OpenGL framework there will be a slight performance gain in some OpenGL apps (as described by Apple)
