Right... I wasn't sure where to post this so I figured I'd start a new thread. Basically I've just about finished a 10.4.8 installation on my Dell Inspiron 6000. It's about 95% working. Even the ATI mobility radeon x300 is working with resolution change and QE/CI after a lot of hours spent searching through these forums!! If anyone needs help with this I'm pretty sure i've got a complete working solution - just PM me :thumbsup_anim:

The trouble is that this computer is getting a bit dated now! (can you tell where I'm going with this thread??) I'm looking into buying a new similar laptop from Dell. I'm a student and I'm broke, so my options are limited!

Basically what I want to know is which of the two graphics card options I should go for. Spent the last few hours researching on here and the rest of the web for info, but haven't found a lot besides rude remarks from people who all think they know best.

The options are:

ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 256MB Hypermemory

NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 256MB TurboCache

I know for a fact that most people who read this will say 'neither of them! Go for the ATI/Nvidia 4millionMB Hyperturbocache super advanced gpu blah blah blah'......

The thing is that these are the only two options. It's either one or the other!

My main aims are:

To play Warcraft 3 comfortably on OSX (windows doesn't support widescreen resolutions!) Don't laugh, I know it's old - I'm not a hardcore gamer, just me and a couple of mates have this game and it's just fun!

To play Age of Empires 3 in Windows at any settings. I know that they'll both be able to do it - I can do it already on my X300 when my processor decides to work at 1.6Ghz rather than 900mhz!

To have the card fully functional in OSX86! I've been looking into natit/titan and it seems like one of them should work.

When i get it I think i'll be downgrading to XP from Vista and dual booting with 10.4.8. I don't feel the need to have Vista yet and I can't be bothered to give up the 15GB it needs!

Any help is much appreciated, and I'm happy to help out anyone with the Inspiron 6000 if I can.
