loonymonkey
I have successfully installed OSX86 to an old IDE drive (2) times. When I try to install to my SATA drive, the install sees my drive, but it freezes about 10% into the Base install. Anyone know what could be causing this? hecker
I believe there are some general problems with SATA on some machines. Did you check for hardware compatibility? hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45186-install-freezes-when-installing-to-sata-drive/#findComment-322952 Share on other sites

jleal
I have the same problem. Installed well on a IDE drive but on my sata disk sometimes the installations stops at 10% in the base install, other times it stops ahead, at the essentials install. Don't know what to do next.... loonymonkey
I have the same problem. Installed well on a IDE drive but on my sata disk sometimes the installations stops at 10% in the base install, other times it stops ahead, at the essentials install.Don't know what to do next.... Here is what I had to do. Install VMWare Workstation (free for 30 days). Use the VMWare install guide in the Tutorial forum. After installing, download the Nforce4ATA drivers and install in the OSX extension folder. Repair the permissions, then reboot your computer. You will then be able to boot to the OSX partition. I used these threads VMWare to Native http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...4&hl=vmware nforce4 drivers http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=35985 Edited March 16, 2007 by loonymonkey Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45186-install-freezes-when-installing-to-sata-drive/#findComment-325310 Share on other sites
