osxster
I am running 10.4.3 which doesn't support the new Time Zones. I couldn't get the Apple Patches to work on my machine and I ended up attempting to install the patches the easy way (what I thought), updating the zoneinfo files directly with the correct files. This works great when you type date in a terminal window and when you click on the Finder Clock to set your new timezone. It shows up as timezone EDT, however the Finder Clock never reports the correct time for the time zone. Created files also show the correct timezone. From my the reading that I have done, Finder may use the timezone information contained in the CarbonCore framework rather than the BSD timezone files which everything else uses. Is there a way to update this timezone information?
