matulike
Hi, I've been stoopid. I put the 5701 patch on a 5750 NIC (14e4/1677). It now has to be disabled to boot. Everything else is fine tho. Got wireless working and installed all apps so would prefer not to have to reinstall at this stage! I just need to replace the original file, remove my entry from the plist file (IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext/info.plist). Then flush the caches and repair the permissions and reboot. I think. Sounds about right for the reverse of what I did to install it! I dont have the original file tho. Is there any way to get it off the installation DVD? Then I can enable the NIC, and make sure I can boot with it enabled, patch it with the 5750 patch and hopefully it'll work! Thanks in advance... hecker
You can download and use pacifist to open up one of the package files of the install DVD. Or try using pacifist's "Open Apple Install packages" button. You can also use the "search" menu after you opened a package to search for the file you need. The file you search for should be somewhere under /System/Installation/packages on the install DVD. It shouldn't be too hard to find. Hope this helps, hecker Edited March 9, 2007 by hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44718-screwed-patch-pls-help-with-orig-file/#findComment-320248 Share on other sites
