Hey folks.

Currently, I have two hard disks on the Primary IDE channel and a DVD+RW drive on the Secondary IDE channel.

OSX cant see the DVD drive and every time I want to watch a DVD on OSX, I have to open the machine and use a single cable for both. This is a pain in the ass!

Is there any way OSX can recognise Secondary channel devices? I'd love to eliminate the need for hardware changing every 10 minutes!

Thanks

Your DVD is probably set to slave or cable-select. Set the pin to master.

Also, if you are using 80-wire cable (which you probably are) then make sure the master drive is connected to the END of the cable and the slave in the middle (in case you need two drives on one cable).

Hey, thanks for your reply.

On Primary IDE channel, the master hard drive is my 120gb Windows HDD, and the other is this OSX HDD. The DVD drive is on its own cable, on the Secondary IDE channel, and is already set to master. OSX just wont pick it up!

Any other ideas?

My motherboard is an ASUS A8N SLI-Deluxe

Thanks again!
