techmax
well at long last i finally got it working. i really like osx but i think i have narrowed some problems down to my video card. my system is as follows: dell optiplex gx260 Machine Name: jMac Machine Model: ADP2,1 CPU Type: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU Number Of CPUs: 1 CPU Speed: 2.4 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB CPU Features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH DS ACPI MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SS HTT TM EST Memory: 768 MB Bus Speed: 1.6 GHz Boot ROM Version: A00 (Dell Computer Corporation) Serial Number: 56DGK11 Display: Type: VGA-Compatible Controller Bus: AGP VRAM (Total): 128 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x5159 Revision ID: 0x0000 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported this is a low profile agp card. i am not sure what the on board chipset is or if it would work better. i have programs like chess and ichat crash. can someone please point me in the right direction? hecker
Ok, it seems your card has these properties: Graphics card : ATI RADEON VE DDR Chip Type : ATI RV100(QY) DAC Type : Internal DAC (350Mhz) Memory Size : 32 MB Adapter String : 1002-5159-02 I don't believe a card like this even supports QE/CI. I could be wrong though. hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44660-newbie-ati-video-problems-i-think/#findComment-319897 Share on other sites

hecker
I personally would try the AGPGart + Callisto solution. You can find the files here: http://ftp.max-systeme.com The files also include installation guides. hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44660-newbie-ati-video-problems-i-think/#findComment-320014 Share on other sites
