Hellsoap
10.4.7 works for me, but after installing 10.4.8, I get nothing. I restart and it will just sit there with "Boot from CD:" (cause boot priority is cd, then mac drive.) I have reinstalled it multiple times everytime I get this. I installed the AMD kexts, and the navit or nvidia drivers, other than that only defaults. Specs: AMD 64 x2 3800+ Biostart TForce4SLI (nForce 4 chipset) Nvidia 7800gt probably doesn't matter but 2gb of ram Thanks ahead! P.S. Don't just say "well then use 10.4.7," because I can't get my 7800gt working on 10.4.7. Hellsoap
I used JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3, which the same one for 10.4.7 works. Also, I couldn't get it to work on 10.4.7 I tried everything, thats the only reason I want 10.4.8. Yeah I have windows on another drive, I can try some boot loaders, but if there was a better way than that it would help. JohnPopes
have you reinstalled osx? i dont know maybe these electronic things get stupid.. try again its only twenty minutes make sure u use disk partition tool on the installation to see if everything good, maybe wipe out everything and start fresh. then if it still dont work go to ur windows installation and try acronis again. hey what do i know? im still trying to get 10.4.8 lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44544-1048-wont-boot/#findComment-319303 Share on other sites
Hellsoap
reinstalled and still no go, if I wasn't linux illiterate I would try something like grub, because I think acronis is more for windows and linux, not os x. Hellsoap
well theres wingrub for windows. i cant say for sure but i guess i saw a tutorial with that on http://wiki.osx86project.org/ or maybe somewhere else. hey help me with one thing: u had windows the installed osx that screwed the boot up, then how did u make windows to default boot again? everytime i tried i got a hfs+ partition error.. I've downloaded and tried another 10.4.8 iso, and still same problem. Is there any other ideas? Maybe com.boot.apple.plist or whatever isn't there or something? @john I installed it to a different drive, and I just switched back and forth between drives through bios, so I wouldn't know. EDIT: I just want to make sure you guys know, this is before darwin bootloader opens, so could it be a problem with that? Is there a solution?
