Two unbelievable things have happened in the world of Macs this year already:

 

The Modbook, the first commercially available Apple Mac tablet has been created, and is nearly ready I believe for general sales.

 

Khashoggi and Scott of TabletMagic fame have created and distributed working drivers for Serial WACOM based TabletPC's.

 

Unfortunately, the tablet platform is new, and so many features are as of yet unavailable, that were on Windows - Button panel and fingerprint support, Screen rotation with Hackintosh displays, and on most TabletPC's, calibration is still a nogo.

 

Still, there are applications out there designed especially for TabletMac's already, and they can be listed in this thread.

 

First: Graphical Note taking.

 

Any tablet user used Windows Journal.

 

I have yet to try most of them, but there are several Multiplatform Tablet Journal programs:

 

Xournal (X11 based),

Gournal (GTK based),

Notelab (Java),

Jarnal (Java),

 

The only one I've tried is Jarnal, which I used once or twice when setting up the TabletPC I bought for my mother (It ran Windows 2000 - So no journal.)

 

So, I liked it on the Windows box, although Windows Java looks horrible. I downloaded it to the Mac, set the .sh script to run in terminal (Otherwise it would just load textedit when double-clicked) and it runs perfectly.

 

The only issue is that as a script file, I can't drag it into the dock. So a better iJournal program is probably worth making, perhaps based on either Xournal/Gournal. Still, Jarnal is fine for note taking as it is, you just need to have to go into Applications to run it.
