cionide
well not like its supprising but jas's release amd/intel sse2/sse3 just doesnt wanna work at all just no give, everyturn an error. first i noticed that the damn dvd wouldnt even boot unless i put my burner on the slowest speed then . after i make a bootable copy it takes about 40min to get to the install screen. then once finsihed installing the friggin thing wont boot without the dvd and rd=disk#s# command. Once inside i tried to set up my viarhine 2 network card to no avail . Its just plane ridiculous the probs with this release ive had. So here i am with a os that for the life of me wont boot natively or with network support , i was using the 10.4.3 which seemed more stable but still no network support or nvida support. I know ya cant expect much os that is not made for pc but i mean comon you figure a newer release would work better . The comp in question is a MB: biostar p4m800 pro-m7 processor: Celeron d 3.333ghz which supports sse2 and sse3 Ram: 512mb ddr2 Video Card: Nvidia geforce fx 5200 Integrated ethernet port:realtek rtl8201bl/rtl8201cl As well it should be noted the i have partitioned my hard drive into 3 partitions one for vista "primary" one for mac "primary" and a fat32 for transfering files between the two " extended" Any help would be greatly appreciated and after how much I've read would solve a lot of people probs if we could make a almost full proof install guide to get all these probs in order .once again thank you for your time and conisderation. WaldMeister
Well, I can only suggest my way, and that is to install the 10.4.7 release on demonoid, and manually upgrade it to 10.4.8 with the new kernel. I suppose you've read the tutorials about how to. Installing from the dvd also never worked for me, never had problems with the manual upgrade. Note: If you try this method, be sure to get a good copy of the applesmbios.kext, if not, you'll suffer from a lot of crashes, about every 20 min when connected to the internet. And for the ethernet, search for realtekR1000, maybe it works. Guest Ramm
Changing the jumper on the DVD drive changes a lot for some reason. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44340-well-more-troubles-with-1048-amdintel-jas/#findComment-317312 Share on other sites
WaldMeister
Maybe you should consider it's a harware failure. You could try replacing the ethernet card, and look if there's an internet connection in Windows. If not, maybe a bit noobish, but see if the driver is correctly installed. cionide
well it's not that the dvd cant be read it will install "very slowy to boot to the install" then once installed i can only get in by using the dvd will the command rd=disk#s# then it will boot normaly but no netwiork support or nvidia . without the disk it loads darwin then when about to load loginwindow i get a black screen .so I tried using the commands "-k and -F" then i just get a reversed cursor on that same black screen. thank for the input though Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44340-well-more-troubles-with-1048-amdintel-jas/#findComment-317330 Share on other sites

cionide
deamobile replacing the network card would be abit tricky seeing as its integratede into my motherboard "lol" thanks though i forgot to mention that. and ive reset the bios back to factory so i dont know whats the deal . When it stopped working in widows what happend was i had internet in windows then i formatted the hd and made all the partitions listed in the above post then i reinstalled windows on the one partiton and i got no internet "very strange it worked without anything done but a fresh install last time " so i went on to install the mac os with the same result no internet "only to then find out that like nobodys interent works when they install the mac osx86 without major changes and scouring for drivers on the net" (man what a pain). deamobile no i didnt i just used the jas 10.4.8 amd/intel sse2/sse3 with all the patches {censored} dvd straight to where im at now . only bootable with that darn dvd in it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44340-well-more-troubles-with-1048-amdintel-jas/#findComment-317339 Share on other sites
Guest Ramm
You can disable the onboard ethernet through the BIOS though. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44340-well-more-troubles-with-1048-amdintel-jas/#findComment-317341 Share on other sites
WaldMeister
The bios reset could be the reason there's no ethernet, I don't know a lot about pc bios, since i'm on a laptop, but you should check if there's a option to activate/deactivate ethernet. Guest Ramm
It should be under PCI devices or onboard devices somewhere. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44340-well-more-troubles-with-1048-amdintel-jas/#findComment-317346 Share on other sites
WaldMeister
If you can't find anything in the bios, you could manually ad, ip-adres, subnetmask and gateway to your connection, to see if it brings anything, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44340-well-more-troubles-with-1048-amdintel-jas/#findComment-317347 Share on other sites
