Hey guys. I don't post here often but I did have a question. I have a macbook pro, and I was going to purchase an OEM copy of Windows Vista Ultimate for it to have the best of both worlds. Now my question is this. Since this is an OEM copy, does that mean I could only install it once? Say I install Vista Ultimate on the computer with bootcamp. Then Leopard comes out, and I upgrade to that and get the newer, full version of bootcamp that comes along with it. Now because these current versions of bootcamp expire, does this mean I'd have to re-install Vista? And if I do, will Vista let me re-activate it?

It's kind of a complicated question, I just don't want to throw down all this cash to end up buying another copy of Vista.

I assume that you wouldn't have to necessarily 'reinstall' BootCamp, persay, since all BootCamp really is is a nifty tool to help you partition out your harddrive and emulate a BIOS for Windows to boot from. Your Windows partition will probably not have to be destroyed when you install Leapord, unless it really complains about there being an NTFS partition on the drive. Of course, if it somehow deletes the 200MB EFI partition created by BootCamp, then you'll never be able to easily restore the drive to a single Mac partition.

And keep in mind, the OEM version of Vista is not terribly flexible when it comes to reactivating it, etc.

(this is my first post, I've been a lurker for quite a while, but I'd figure I'd try to start contributing)
