squimmy
Hi, The installation took about 3 hours. It went very slowly and whilst installing the computer was barely responsive. Now the install works, but the hard drive is working very, very slowly and the computers stutters whenever accessing the hard drive as well. I'm using an X200 so I think i'm using the SB400 ATA controller. I'm on the JAS 10.4.8 SSE2/SSE3 release and am using the Generic OnboardPCATA kext, it works, but without any udma. This is really the last thing to get working, but with it acting like this the computer is barely usable. I have installed both this and this and the result is the same for both, continuous "waiting for root device" so both times I have to fall back on the generic driver. Please help! Thanks.
