How to fix black screen (after gray apple logo scren) at startup?

Hello,

Basically after I first install OSx86 succesfully, it restarts and gets to the grey apple loading screen and after a few seconds, the screen goes black or my monitor enters power saving mode (kind oflike windows sleep mode). I have not seen anything yet, that's as far as it got after my installation. I can see this might be a common problem, but when I searched, a lot of them referred to laptops. I listed my specifications, hopefully it will work:

 

Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz Hyper Threading, Socket 478 Processor

Abit IC7-G Motherboard (Intel 875 Chipset)

1 gb Kingston DDR333 (PC2700)

ATi Radeon 9600 Series

80 gb Seagate Barracuda PATA/IDE Primary

 

I really hope I can get this going, I have already reinstalled OSx86 abuot 8 times, and have been spending the past two days troubleshooting it.

Try booting with the "-v" kernel option and post the relevant messages into this group.... There can be millions of root causes

now, booting at "-x" it's just a white screen, with nothing no cursor, no start-up load screen. just all white. i hope this is a common problem.

 

(i think the "-v" led me to above as well)
