I was able to get the Toshiba Satelite M55-S141 running. I used 10.4.4 to install then updated to 10.4.5 with maxuss' updater, after the update my WiFi and Wired networking worked just fine(I'm typing from it now). The only thing remaining to be fixed is the audio(Realtek ACL250), if I get it working I will post more info.

CPU: 1.6GHz Intel Celeron M

RAM: 256MB

Video: ATI Radeon Xpress 200M (Listed as VGA-Compatible Controller in System Profiler)

Wireless LAN: Atheros® 802.11b/g wireless-LAN

Wired Lan: Realtek 8100CL 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet

CD/DVD: CD-RW/DVD-ROM TSST Corp

Can you tell me your Network (8100NC) driver file. , I 'm install osx 10.8 but the 8100NC network card don't work, may be I try 10.5 's driver , Can you show me your System Profiler ->Extension and NetworkDriver. and /Library/Preference/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterface.plist

Thank you very much .

Ps. I use Toshiba M55-S141 too.

I certanly will get that for you in a bit... im not using OSX primarily because i require a MIC. In the mean time I can tell you that to get both WIFI and LAN working without the hacks I had to install 10.4.4 then upgrade to 10.4.5 which is what I am running. I'm also interested in how you got to 10.4.8 both times I tried I ended up in an endless reboot cycle.

I just remembered that On that preticular laptop if you install anything above 10.4.4 that it places the network cards in the wrong order... I cant remember which but i know that either the LAN has to be ETH0 and the WLAN has to be ETH1 or vice versa, try to switch it in you "NetworkInterface.plist".

Ok here is the pic you asked for. And in my last post eth0/1 should be en0 and en1 you will see it here. I will also upload my NetworkInterfaces.plist. If you need anything else or if you still have problems... also if you hear anything about getting the MIC to work or a video driver please let me know I'd love to be able to watch dvds.

Wow it's been a little more than awhile since i posted sry...

So I found that with Journaling on with this laptop (standard specs) the system runs painfully slow... so I disabled it and guess what..... I allmost fell over with joy...

to disable it just open your terminal /Application/Utilities/terminal

and type the following (without the "" of course): "sudo /usr/sbin/diskutill disablejournal /"

the increase in speed is insane.
