TeRaByTeS
Hello, I'm trying to install MacOSX10, v 10.4 (I don't know exactly the version), 10.4.6 and 10.4.7 and with the first one I get a non compatibility message, but with two others I'm getting this screen: after a few minutes of waiting I stop it, the icon under the apple is moving around so I think it's not blocked at all, but what can be happening? My laptop is an Acer Aspire 1604 LC. PIV 2'8 Ghz, 512Mb ram, Ati Mobiliti Radeon ....... Thank you in advance for your answers. hecker
Try entering -v at the darwin bootloader to see if we can get more infos. hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43736-installation-blocked/#findComment-312683 Share on other sites
TeRaByTeS
Thank you, I assume that -v is verbose mode, so may be there is an option to boot in text mode, like in linux you tike linux text at boot prompt, in Mac OS X can you type something to boot as verbose as text mode to see more info? Thank you. Try entering -v at the darwin bootloader to see if we can get more infos. hecker Edited February 28, 2007 by TeRaByTeS Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43736-installation-blocked/#findComment-313227 Share on other sites

hecker
Thank you, I assume that -v is verbose mode, so may be there is an option to boot in text mode You can boot in the so called "single user mode" with the -x switch. You are getting the "still waiting for root device" error, so that means that some drive is either not configured correctly or could need patching (if SATA, for example). This is a very common error.
