matulike
Hi, I know this has been gone over before - but none of the posts really seemed to answer the question! Cloning is fine, I understand that, in fact it worked 100% fine with Ghost for me. Which is strange because I Ghosted my OS X partition (original 20GB) and my Win XP partiton (orig 20GB) from a 40GB drive to a 250GB drive. Tried to put OS X on 100GB, and Win XP on 80GB leaving me 50-odd-GB to play around with either SuSe linux or an OS X backup/clone. The OS X ghost worked fine, but it only sees the original 20GB partition size. The Win XP partiton wont boot, but that's for another forum ;o) So I guess I could either: a) do it all over again but this time Ghost the whole drive to the new drive and then use Acronis to extend the partitions afterwards or use another method of copying OS X - RsyncX, Carbon Copy? Do they both support cloning to a bigger drive and being able to use all of the new disk space? THAT'S THE IMPOTANT QUESTION!! Thanks! aQd
I think clonetool would handle it. www.art5dog.com I have used it to go from different sized drives (smaller source drive->larger target drive) without any problems Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43714-clone-to-bigger-drive/#findComment-312519 Share on other sites
