Safe Mode works, regular boot = nvidia gpu panic

After installing 10.4.8 I get a kernal panic related to my geforce and it stops booting. But booting into safe mode works just fine.

 

In safe mode I was stuck at 1024x768. After installing Natit Universal it recognized that I had a geforce 6800 and let me run at native resolution in safe mode. It still labled my card as PCI so I installed AGPgart, that made the card AGP. Thats as far as I got since I cant download titan since the website has been down and there doesnt seem to be any mirrors at all. QE and CI were all disabled (do they ever get enabled in safe mode?).

 

After having all that progress in safe mode it still hasnt affected the regular boot. I get stuck with a kernel panic with 4 things listed related to the video card, the last being NVDAR something.

 

(I then tried macvidia since I didnt have access to titan, that destroyed my OSX install and I cant even get back into safemode since the screen garbles when booting and freezes. I'll have to re-install and never use it again.)

 

How can I get it booting up normally? If safemode works so well I imagine it has to be possible to get it working. Do I need titan for it to boot?

 

I have a geforce 6800, Athlon 64 3000+ (sse2), gigabyte k8ns-ultra (nforce 3). I installed 10.4.8 using the AMD customization only. The natit customization doesnt boot and I cant even boot into safe mode with it, the monitor just turns off.

No, I don't think you get acceleration in safe mode, I doesn't (which is what saves me.)

 

I have sse2 socket 754 athlon64 3000+ on msi ms-6702 / via k8t800 vid 6800le agp and mine worked with titan from the jas 10.4.8 + ppf1 disc.

 

Get that disc and try?
