A while ago I installed JaS 10.4.8 + ppf1 on my SSE2 AMD with nv6800LE and everything worked fine.

Yesterday or the day before that but with no reboot I installed the xcode environment.

Yesterday I also ran and looked at system x optimizer but I didn't find anything useful except the network stuff which I put at 1.5mbps+ (which raised some values to 65535.)

Today my OS X have crapped out two times with a white messed up screen with like 32x32 pixel tiles or so with a few black lines and then no responsibility (atleast I couldn't see anything so I had to hard reboot.)

And now if have hanged 3 times with looked GUI, once while moving a window into place, another was visiting a webpage with flash and a third time while connecting to irc.macspeak.net in colloquy.

It seems like if I don't touch anything the OS remains stable but whenever it animates something new it can look up the graphics and kick me out.

Earlier I also unlocked my graphics card gpu (it's not unlocked in os x thought since I have no idea how to tell what adress the card memory is on in os x), raised the voltage and overclocked it. It's not overclocked now but it still have raised voltage. However it haven't crashed before for 2 weeks or so so why would that matter now? Also I doubt os x pushes it that much so I doubt it's heat or whatever.

Does anyone got an idea what might be wrong? System X optimizer which did something else and screwed up? Xcode updated anything in the OS with components which doesn't work on a hack? My graphics card?

Ideas of what I can try?

Got messed up text input field in adium followed by messed up screen and some os x graphics telling me I had to reboot my computer. So atleast the OS notices something is wrong.

Rebooted and graphics crashed again.

Went into system optimizer x looking for any information about what it did/uninstall but instead I ran all its optimization stuff.

Rebooted computer and came back and now the loginwindow was gone and that one had started after the xcode install earlier, also it removed my wallpaper for whatever reason. We'll see if it crashes again...

If it does I wonder if it's xcode, reinstallation of graphics drivers or reinstallation of whole os which I should do.

Anyone else runs a new xcode on their hack?

Funkiest os x screenshot yet?

Maybe my ram modules doesn't like the voltage or something? To bad my mom took away my sisters laptop to her place or I could have flashed the card back. Thought I don't know where my USB key is atm either =P

Ok, I opened the old install DVD with pacifist, removed old opengl- and agl-frameworks and extracted those files, checked permissions, updated pre-binds and removed old whatever-cache.

Still no luck.

May it be some other files aswell? Quartz? Core image?

I haven't lowered the voltage of the card yet but I will soon.

I booted with -x (safe mode) and since then I haven't had any crashes, does that give any clues?

Reinstalled opengl, agl, quartz, quartzcode frameworks.

Reinstalled titan.

Fixed permissions, removed cache, updated pre-bindings.

If it's an error with the graphics card should the OS really know?

Looks like graphics artifacts from the graphics card atleast ;)

I'll flash it back to 1.1 volt tomorrow and see if that helps, if not I'll try to RMA it, maybe.
