I'm trying to install 10.4.8.PPF1.Defiant.diskutil.biker.880.ICH7, it starts but after 1 second it stops calling a kernel panic (i'm a total noob so I can't figure what is the real problem...) Hope someone can give time to help me solving this. Thank u in advance Problem: see the picture. Note: If I install 10.4.3 Viper all works good, and osx starts working well. If I install 1.4.5 or upper I have always the same problem. I've tried to: disable HT (with 10.4.3 it works also with HT enabled) Change ACPI mode from BIOS from S3 to S5 (the only options I have) (S3 was good with 10.4.3) -x -F platform=X86PC cpu=1 Install JAS 1.4.8 and JAS 10.4.8 PPF 1 use the search function on the forum My Hardware: Intel PIV 3GHz HT MoBo Intel 865 PERL 2 GB RAM (4 x 512MB) Video Radeon ??? 80 GB HD on SATA channel 0 CD ROM master on secondary PATA (IDE) channel DVD Burner slave on secondary PATA (IDE) channel Note: With this configuration all works well in 10.4.3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43575-problem-starting-1048-installation-on-piv-3ghz-ht/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not really sure, but just a thought. AlienSpice Posted March 4, 2007 Author Share Posted March 4, 2007 news: My video card is an ATI Radeon 9200 mx 400 64 MB 10.4.5 start the installation 10.4.6 and 10.4.8 block installation when checking the video card (see my first post) also... when starting installation of 10.4.6 or 10.4.8 after typing F8 the command '?' bring me to an empty black screen, I can only read the 'type space or q.... bla bla' sentence. Have I to stay in 10.4.5? someone could help me??? Radeon 9200 is given as compatible, also intel 865 PERL MOBO why other cpu works and not mine? thank u in advance for any help!
