I've got a basic but nice USB mp3 player. On a PPC Mac i just plug it in a USB port and it shows up like a hard drive . I can just drag and drop mp3's etc works fine no software needed.

On my HacIntosh it turns on when I plug it in but it never shows up on the desk top or anywhere. I use a wireless USB mouse with no problems works in any USB port. So my USB ports are working it seems. I've tried Disk Utility to see if it finds it no go. Even tried Disk Warrior and Drive Genius to see if it would find and mount it no luck. Any ideas? This is the first thing I've found to not work sofar. Thanks

PS Disk Warrior messed up my boot sector or something when I ran it like a fool and let it make changes. While I was able to boot from another disk and save my data I had to reinstall to fix the drive .

Ok mystery solved with no help from you ;-) Tried everything USB bios you name it. I couldn't believe not being able to put tunes on my mp3 player was going to be the hold up from switching off the PPC Mac! My PPC Mac's USB ports are on the back so I use a 5 ft USB cord to do the hookup. Well turns out that the hacIntosh will not work with the 5 ft USB cord very odd. The fix is to use the 6 in USB cord that came with the mp3 Player. The HacIntosh has USB plugs on the front so easy to do . It's very odd the PPC Mac is fine with the USB extention cord but not the PC . I'm just glad there was a fix.
