I've got OS X (10.4.6) up and running on my system, everything is working pretty good, if I do say so, except I'm having an issue with my audio...

It seems that I get a high-pitched squeal--all the time. Whenever I move my mouse on the screen, I get a crackling sound.

If I go into the Audio MIDI Setup, and adjust the Audio Output volume slider to the left, I can get rid of the squealing, but then everything is extremely quiet, and I can still hear a faint crackling when I move the mouse.

Any ideas? I've searched like crazy for a solution, but I find very little that helps...

Oh, and it does the same thing in Windows too, but I usually use my SoundBlaster in XP.

I guess I'll reply to my own post...

Got the onboard sound working under Windows. Updated the driver, opened up the volume controls and muted the PC Speaker control.

Squealing gone.

However, I have no idea what the equivalent on OS X is. Does anybody?

I've played around with the Audo-Midi settings and I don't have many options to work with there...

Hmm...since I seem to be having a dialouge with myself, I thought that perhaps the actual speaker in the case could be causing this problem.

As much as I hope it's the problem, I almost don't, because I wasted the better part of yesterday trying to solve this problem. If all I've got to do is unplug the thing, I'm going to be happy, yet upset at the same time.

I'll give it a shot tonight.

Alright, yeah, unplugged the internal pc speaker, and the interference is gone.

I'd like to thank me for all the help.

Anyway, now everything is working perfectly. XBench scores still lower than I'd like, but hey, it's working.

Oh, except SATA, but I don't really want it to see my SATA drive anyway.

Well, funny you wrote it all done for yourself...

Hmm, I've the same board but never did connect the internal speaker... :)

What's your OSX Version what hardware do you else have in your hackintosh ?

I'd like to get some infos coze we have the same board and use AMD cpu's.

I have the same Asus MB and use AMD x2 4200+ CPU.

Using Jas 10.4.5 version everything working except no USB 2.0 function.

Upgraded to 10.4.7 or 10.4.8 new problems bother me a lot:

(1) About my Mac : abnormal --> refresh the monitor then back again, no showing corrrect information at all

(2) Installer: malfunctioned --> everytime installs new software gets error !

Could you kind reply how did you overcome these problems ? Or how did you install 10.4.8 successfully ?

Thanks for your time.

Hmm...didn't realize anyone read this...just got an e-mail notification today...

Anyway, I'm running:

AMD 3700+

Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe

2 GB RAM

nVidia 7800GT (was in SLi, just sold the extra card)

JaS AMD/Intel 10.4.8

As for video problems, SLi was a huge pain in the butt. It just doesn't work. If you install the Titan drivers that come on the 10.4.8 DVD from JaS, everything should work, but that would vary depending on your setup, of course.

I never had any problems installing 10.4.8, and I just had to search a bit for the file. Honestly don't remember where I got it, but I do know I had to look around for it.

Other than the SATA problem, I've been having problems with some USB devices. Namely, my iPod doesn't want to work. It did at one point, but now it doesn't. Neither does my USB hard drive, nor my USB flash drive. USB mouse and keyboard work fine, and it recognizes that I have a UPS attached to it.

Anyway, I'm glad it works, it's cool and all, but ever since I've done it, I haven't used it. When I want to do stuff, I still use Windows.

Too bad, because I was looking for something interesting and new.

I have the same board(a8n32 sli deluxe) and had exactly the same problems with usb.

USB mouse and keyboard worked fine, but the USB hard drive didn't worked, nor did he USB flash drive.

The solution for fully working usb 2.0 for the a8n32 is very simple, just install this:
