AcuraTSX2245
Hello guys, As the topic says I am trying to upgrade my Dual G4 machine that is currently running mac OS 9.2 to Tiger. I am very new to Mac, and I just got this machine today. What is the easiest way for me to upgrade to tiger? If I have to purchase it, does anyone know the cheapest place for me to do so? Thanks! nrgexplosion
Well legally yes you would have to buy it, I believe the upgrade cost is $120 or so at your local computer store...I doubt it will be more or less at one store then another, the price is set by apple.... of course you can always get a copy otherwise if you know where to look...but yea it's $120 i think Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42917-upgrading-to-tiger/#findComment-306869 Share on other sites
kevin_4e
The price of it is not going to change much at all from place to place. It stays right around the price Apple wants it to. If you plan on legally purchasing it, and you are tight on money, Leopard will be out soon 9we hope) where you could buy that at the same price. Once you get it, all you have to do is insert the install DVD's and it will run you through the update/install which isn't very difficult. Dr. Heckles
Your cheapest option will be getting it from eBay. Full versions can be had for $50ish. AcuraTSX2245
Is there still no word on the release date of leopard? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42917-upgrading-to-tiger/#findComment-307198 Share on other sites
sandmanfvrga
If can settle with 10.3, then you can get it under $20 sometimes. I got a copy of 10.3 for cheap.
