Hey all, I have my Gateway notebook up and running with OSX 10.4.8, but I still have some issues that I would like to get some help resolving.

1. The OS will randomly choose not to boot up. I get the Apple logo with the spinning icon below it. The spinning stops and the OS will not continue booting. I have to force the power off to restart it. It may or may not boot the next time.

2. When I choose to shut down or reboot, it goes through the motion until I get to a blue screen with the spinning icon, but never actually shuts down. The icon continues to spin the whole time and I have to force it to power off.

3. When I choose to reboot, the computer will go through the motion, but ends up shutting down instead and I have to turn it back on. Not a real big deal, but can be annoying.

4. The power saving features do not appear to be working properly.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, I am all ears. Thank you!

1. On going discussion about this here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=41944

2. & 3. The powermanagement.bundle may fix this, if not, there was a shutdown patch for this but I can't find it... sorry.

4. Install this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...&hl=battery

Thanks for your input. I have joined the other discussion for problem 1.

Problems 2&3 are not working after the power management bundle was installed.

Issue 4 doesn't seem 100% resolved either. If the laptop goes into sleep mode, it locks up. But the battery info came up finally.

Thanks again!
