I installed Jas 10.4.8 with GMA950 patch

It works very well on the internal monitor or if I boot with only the external monitor...

but when I want both display, the internal one is ok and the external one is recognized but the screen is (almost) black.

It does not work also the mirroring...

I looked for similar problem in the forum but I didn't find anything...

If you know a solution, a thread where this arguments are discussed,or you have a positive feedback (i.e. that it works for you) let me know

thanks

Due a search for JaS and GMA950. One of the packages in his first 10.4.8 DVD's was corrupted and did not install the GMA950 drivers properly. Not saying for sure that is your problem, but good place to start. Ran dual-displays on a JaS 10.4.8 for quite a while without any issues myself.

Also what is your secondary display card?

first, thanks for the answer...

about the Jas installation, i think that I got the re/reseed so it should be correct :-(

and I have no second card... I-m using a notebook and it is able to to the dual view...

I repeat that my external monitor SONY E400 is recognized but the image is like unfocused, irregualrly darkened (there is only one zone that is partially visible) and if I move a window on that part of the screen the darkened zones change in location (often all the screen is black).

If you look at the attachment it show a photo of the external monitor... you see that the lower and left part are black... the rest of the background is almost green (instead of blue.. it is the default background), the setting window is almost orange ...

I tried all resolution, refresh rate, nimber of colors... but it does not change...

clearly in windoz it works ... so it is not an hardware problem...

no replies means that I am the only one with this problem...

I tried deleting (move) the AppleIntel950* extension...

but it doenot change...

I deleted the internalframebuffer.kext and it clearly booted with the basic driver:

- no resolution change (only 1024x768)

- no monitor detect...

- but working mirroring from the bios

could someone post here a working copy (tested on a notebook and working external monitor detection) of the AppleIntel950* and internalframebuffer extension?

thx

uhm...

no news = bad news

last information,

If I boot with my external monitor connected...

the image goes only on that and it behaves correctly

but if after boot I try to detect the internal monitor it does not succeed

and if I use the Fn+F5 keys, it messed up oin both and I'm not able to do anything else...

so...

good scenario with toshiba M400 (GMA950 video card)

OK only internal monitor

OK only external monitor (from boot)

KO both monitors

I'm the only one? is there some other post where I can find similar problem?

SOLVED...

I change the BIOS value that select the startup Video to "both" instead of "auto"

now (even if the external monitor is not connected at boot time) the external monitor is recognized correctly when I connect it

I hope that this could be usefull to someone else
